Msheireb Jumaa Mosque

Msheireb, Doha, Qatar

Nestled among the traditional houses of Msheireb Museum in the heritage Quarter of Msheireb Downtown Development sits the Jumaa Mosque. Design of the mosque combines traditional Islamic volumes with modern ideas. Traditional Qatari mosque was the foundation off which the modern Msheireb Jumaa Mosque evolved. Simple and functional interpretation reflects spirituality and order.

The Msheireb Jumaa Mosque is the first LEED Gold certified standalone mosque in the world. And in 2017 it was selected among 122 nominations as a winner of Abdullatif Al Fozan Award for Mosque Architecture.
